Every pastor needs a pastor & brotherhood

The Word Covenant Fellowship International (TWCFI) is a bond of fellow pastors and church planters seeking community, accountability, support, training, oversight, and resources as they pursue God’s call to leadership.

Bishop JR Coleman

Bishop JR Coleman is the pastor of The Word Community Church - a multi-cultural inner city church with 2 campuses in Fresno California. He is also a pastor of pastors, and founded TWCFI to support the churches under his covering. Bishop Coleman acts as an Overseer for church planters and pastors for the purpose of the Senior Pastor’s spiritual accountability and development.

What bishop coleman provides pastors

  • Oversight to the Senior Pastor: Bishop Coleman does regular check-ins for the purpose of measuring church health, and progress.

  • Accountability to the Senior Pastor: All key-leaders have access to the Overseer, maintaining fidelity to the scriptures and a godly lifestyle.

  • Intervention: When resolution to in-house issues becomes increasingly difficult or sometimes even impossible, the Bishop will mediate and intervene.

  • Equipping: Bishop Coleman provides ongoing leadership training and development as needed or requested, and can also provide pulpit support

the Process

Are you a pastor looking for spiritual oversight? Here is how the process would look through TWCFI.

1. relationship

Everything starts with a relationship. Contact us and schedule a time to meet with Bishop Coleman and see if pursuing a relationship with The Word Covenant Fellowship Intl. is a good fit for you and Bishop Coleman.

2. Assessment

If it makes sense to move forward, an assessment process would begin covering: education/biblical literacy, spirituality, relational health, emotional health, financial stewardship, and ministry readiness.

3. Orientation

All ordained ministers would go through a process of orientation to review everything that’s involved with the Covenant. If you have not been ordained, Bishop Coleman can provide an ordination ceremony/service.

4. engrafting

For pastors that are a good relational fit, have passed an assessment process, and have gone through orientation, official engrafting into TWCFI beings. Pastors immediately receive all benefits of the Covenant.
